Great service, my daughter’s wedding dress
was 3 sizes too large, and she wanted the
design at the top changing, the dress
required a great deal of alterations! It looked
amazing on the day. I also changed my dress
to a halter neck and had it shortened, Again
it was perfect for the wedding.

Zero waste pattern cutting research for bridal wear

Sustainability Initiatives

I have researched many areas of sustainability relating to garment design.

My sustainability initiatives relate to zero/low waste pattern cutting methods that can be used to create garment designs that entail zero or very low waste fabric usage.

I have also researched garment design that relates to up cycling and re-use of existing materials to create new designs out of existing products and materials.

I am knowledgeable on sustainable fabrics, and I keep up to date with the latest developments in sustainable fabric choices.

The knowledge that I have within clothing sustainability is extensive and I endeavour to use this knowledge to contribute towards a sustainable future for the clothing/textiles industry.

Pricing for the up-cycling of wedding dresses range from £150 to £2000

Teaching & Workshops

I have a teaching qualification and experience of teaching on accredited and non-accredited courses within adult further education and higher education. My expertise relates to teaching people the skills that are required to design and make clothing. The students that I have taught are individuals who are studying fashion and who want to pursue a career within the fashion industry. I have also taught students who want to design and make clothing as a hobby.

I also deliver workshops relating to clothing alteration, repair and clothing/textiles up-cycling. The attendees of these workshops will learn skills to extend the life of their clothing and textiles, thus reducing the need to purchase new garments and textile items.

Clothes making, garment alteration, repair and methods of garment up-cycling are valuable skills to learn. The reason why these skills are valuable is because these skills can be used to contribute towards an ethos of alter, repair and re-use, which will hopefully encourage people to extend the life of their clothing.

My teaching and workshops aim to introduce sustainable initiatives within communities which will hopefully contribute towards a sustainable future for the clothing/textiles industry.

Prices for private lessons are from £25 to £35 per hour.
Prices for workshops are from £6 to £25 per session.
